Symi harbor is located in the beautiful bay of Symi in the north of the island, 22 miles north-west of the port of Rhodes and 40 miles from the port of Kos.
Yachts are moored stern to the waterfront using mooring buoys. The marinero on a motorboat helps you to tie the bow of your yacht to the buoy, but because there is only one marinero, there are often queues of yachts for mooring.
Although Symi harbor is well sheltered from Meltemi, it can become problematic in strong north-easterly winds. Simi is also a lively harbor with ferries, hydrofoils and high-speed catamarans constantly arriving and departing.
There are several good restaurants and stores. Good service. Lively and noisy tourist town.
