Agathonisi (means Good Island) or Gaidaros (Donkey Island) or Gaidouronisi (Donkey Island) is a small island in the north of the Dodecanese archipelago. Only 150 people live on the island in the two villages Megalo Chorio (Large Village) and Micro Chorio (Small Village). Many yachtsmens consider Agathonisi Island as the best island in the Aegean Sea.
Agathonisi is a rocky and dry island. The highest point of the island is 189 m above sea level. The ferry port and villages are located on the south coast of the island in the bay of St. George. The port is the only place on the island where yachts can be moored to the pier. On the coast of the island there are several bays with deserted anchorages.
