The Croatian island of Kaprije is located 8 miles south-west of Sibenik near the island of Kakan in the south-west and Zmajan in the north-east. The island has about 150 inhabitants who are mainly engaged in tourist services, in particular yachtsmen, and agriculture - viticulture, olive and caper growing. From the "capers", presumably came the name of the island.
The only inhabited settlement on the island is Kaprije, located on the shore of the bay of the same name in the south-eastern part of the island. Kaprije village is the port of the island and the main yacht mooring, although there is another suitable spot for mooring yachts. It is the bay of Mala Nozdra on the east of the island. The choice of mooring depends, first of all, on the direction and force of the wind.
