Portsmouth is located on the west coast of Dominica 5 miles south of the northern tip of the island.
A field of mooring buoys for yachts is located at the north part of Prince Rupert Bay opposite the village. Most of the buoys are owned by the PAYS Association, whose staff meets incoming yachts by motorboat. The price of mooring is just under 20 USD per night. Shelter from the prevailing waves and winds is good, although there can be ripples.
PAYS Associates can arrange for your entry/exit paperwork and a number of interesting excursions around the island. On Sundays, PAYS organizes a barbecue on the shore for yachtsmen (20 USD per person). This is a great opportunity to meet other yachtsmen from around the world.
