Morne Trois Pitons National Park is located in the southern part of Dominica Island.
Morne Trois Pitons is National Park in Dominica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it surrounds the second highest mountain on the island. The national park includes six ecosystems, ranging from lowland forests to mature tropical forests.
You can find the giant porpoise, known as agouti, as well as parrots and hummingbirds. Morne Trois Pitons National Park occupies the lower half of Dominica.
The lush natural rainforest is combined with scenic volcanic features which are of great scientific interest in this national park, the center of which is the 1,342-meter-high volcano known as Morne Trois Pitons.
With its steep slopes and deeply incised valleys, 50 fumaroles, hot springs, three freshwater lakes, a "boiling lake" and five volcanoes spread over nearly 7,000 hectares of the park, and with the richest biodiversity in the Lesser Antilles, the park is a rare combination of natural features, of World Heritage value.
