Old Town of Datca

The old town of Datca (Eski Datca) is located 3.7 kilometers northwest of the port of Datca.

The Road to Old Datca

It can be reached on foot or by bus from the Datchi bus station. It is a little more than half way. The name Datсa comes from Stadia an ancient town near Knid. Stadia evolved into Tadia , Dadya , Dadcha , and then Datca.

Old Datca is very different. Sometimes walking through the narrow streets among the low stone houses trimmed with begonville it feels like you are alone in the whole city.

But it has all the attributes of a resort town. These include small hotels, souvenir shops and many restaurants.

As in every Turkish town Old Datca has its own mosque.

It is nice to wander around old town in the evening, when small restaurants are filled with people.
