Temple of Artemis was once a monumental structure built in the Archaic style around 580 BC in the ancient city of Kerkyra. The temple was dedicated to Goddess Artemis and acted as a sanctuary. The Temple of Artemis is considered to be one of the 150 masterpieces of western architecture and a major milestone of ancient Greek architecture. There is little remains of the once majestic structure, but there is enough information to recreate the architectural details of the temple that archaeologists have been able to uncover during excavations.
