The small island of Alimia is located 4 miles west of Rhodes.
Alimia has a fairly large and enclosed bay in which yachts can be found shelter from winds of all directions. In south-westerly winds, a nasty wave can come into the bay. Anchorage of yachts, depending on wind direction, is possible in the north-eastern part of the bay near the village, under the northwest shore or in the southern allocated part of the bay. Depths from 5 to 20 meters. The bottom is sand and rocks. Sometimes it takes several attempts for good holding.
At present, the island is uninhabited. It is visited only by fishermen and yachtsmen. On Alymia is quite a large gradually destroying village with a couple of chapels and the remains of the German barracks from the Second World War.
