Varis Bay (Ormos Varis) is located on the south-east coast of Syros, 3.5 miles north-east of the southern tip of the island. This anchorage is often referred as the anchorage at Achladi Beach.
Yachts are anchored in the middle of the bay at depths of 3-6 meters. The bottom is sandy. Holding is very good. Excellent shelter from Meltemi. Possible strong gusts of wind.
The sandy beach Varis is on the north shore and Ahladi is on the west shore. Resort villages around the beaches. In Ahladi there are two tavernas and a mini-market. In Akhladi there is a fishing pier, where you can leave dinghy. But beware of rusty very sharp metal spikes.
