Finikas is located in the bay of Phoinika on the west coast of the island at its southern tip.
Finikas Harbor is located in the north-west corner of the bay. It is a quieter harbor and better shelter than Ermoupolis. You can find space berth inside the harbor, but space is scarce and most yachts moored of bow or stern to the south side of the outer breakwater, where there is good shelter from the prevailing northerly winds. Skippers should keep in mind that incoming ferries create a wave and need to pull far enough away from the breakwater. The bottom is sandy. Holding is enough good. You should keep in mind that with south and south-westerly winds mooring here is not safe. The pier has electricity and water, a simple shower and toilet. On weekends in Finikas Harbor, it is difficult to find a berth, as the charter company is based here. It is not recommended to moor by the pier on Wednesdays during summer, because one of the cafes on the beach plays very loud music until 3:00 a.m.
As an alternative to mooring at the pier, yachts can be anchored to the east of the bay opposite the beach at depths of 3-7 meters. The bottom is sand and seaweed.
