Vourkari village is located in the north-east corner of the large bay of St. Nicholas on the north-west of Kea. Vourkari is often visited by yachtsmen who rent yachts in Lavrio or Athens for voyages around the Cyclades.
Depths near the quay are 1,5 - 2 m. Anchor should be dropped at depths of 5-10 m. When Meltemi is blowing, mooring near the waterfront is not very comfortable. You can be anchored opposite the quay at a depth of 10-15 meters. The bottom is sand, silt, seaweed. Not always possible to fix the anchor at first attempt. The bottom is cluttered. There is a chance to hook the anchor of old chain.
In addition, you can be anchored off the north shore of the bay at a depth of 5-10 meters. The bottom is sandy. Holding is good. But be careful when choosing a point of anchorage, becouse there are old cables on the bottom.
There are several restaurants and taverns on the waterfront and small store.
