Ilovik Island is located less than a mile from the south-eastern tip of the island of Losinj.
There are several options for yacht mooring in the narrow (about 200 m) channel between the north-eastern shore of Ilovik Island and Sveti Petar Island. In the channel can stop for the night about 60 yachts. Depths in the channel range from 5.0 meters in the shallowest and narrowest channel to 10.0 meters in the wider channel. There are no dangers in the channel. When approaching the channel from the north-west, the shallows extend 50-60 meters from the capes on either side of the channel. The anchorage is good in winds of all directions, although strong south-easterly winds create an unpleasant waves in the channel.
There are three mooring options on Ilowick Island:
Short pier is located on northwest of the Ilowick Village waterfront. The north side of the pier is reserved for ferries and tourist vessels. About five yachts can be moored at the south side of the pier using fixed mooring lines. Depths at the pier are 3.0 to 3.5 meters. Water and electricity are available on the pier.
Mooring buoys. If the marina is full, yachts can be moored in the channel between Ilovik and Sveti Petar, at one of the 60 or so mooring buoys that are set up on both sides of the channel. Depths at the buoys range from 3.0 to 4.0 meters.
Anchorage. If the buoys are all occupied, you can be anchored behind the piers to the south-east of the village. Depths here are 5.0 to 6.0 m. Holding is good in the sand and mud. The second anchorage is on the north-eastern side of the channel near Sveti Petar Island. Depths are 3.0 - 4.0 meters. There are poles on the shore to which you can tie mooring lines from the stern of the yacht.
The village on the shore has a lively tourist industry during the season, with regular arrivals of tourist vessels from Mali Losinj. There are several good fish restaurants.
