The small harbor Lucina, the main ferry port of the island of Molat in Croatia, lies on the south-west side of Brguljski Zaljev, a large bay that divides in two the southern part of the island of Molat.
Lucina Bay is located a mile and a half south-east of the village of Brgulje. The harbor provides berths for a total of 20 yachts, mostly with fixed moorings in depths of 2 to 5 meters. The inner harbor in the head part of the bay is shallow and suitable only for small boats. Shelter for yachts here is good in winds and waves of all directions except south-westerly, which push a wave right into the harbor and make it impossible mooring yachts in the harbor. The small village of Molat is located about 300 meters east of the harbor.
There are no dangers when approaching Lucina Bay. The spire of the village church on the hill behind the bay is clearly visible, as is the red navigation light at the end of the ferry pier.
There are four main choices for yacht mooring in Lucina Bay.
1. The outside of the ferry pier.
On the outside of the ferry pier, there are five fixed moorings at depths of 3.5 to 4.0 meters at the north-east end of the pier with blue 'Yachts Only' written on it. The south-west end of the pier is for touring and hotel boats.
2. Highlighted portion of the waterfront.
Immediately behind the ferry pier is a dedicated section of the waterfront with fixed moorings for 10 yachts in depths of 2.5-3.5 meters. Depths along the waterfront are variable, so yachts with a long rudder should approach with their bow.
3. Inner Harbor Breakwater.
On the outer side of the inner harbor breakwater is a concrete pier with six moorings at only 1.5 to 2.0 meters depth. These moorings are for small yachts with shallow drafts.
4. The inside of the ferry pier.
There is a berth for mooring 2-3 yachts on the inside of the ferry pier in a depth of 4.5 - 5.0 meters. These berths are usually reserved for large yachts. It can be noisy here when the ferry comes and its engine is running.
Water and electricity are available on the waterfront for an additional fee. Water is not always available and in small portions.
There is a store in the village of Molat. There is a bar and restaurant on the waterfront.
