An important city and commercial center, Zadar is located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, about 70 miles north-west of Split and 100 miles south-east of Rijeka, which together with Dubrovnik make up Croatia's four major ports. The city is separated by a two-mile wide strait from the two long islands of Ugljan and Pasman to the west. Marina Zadar Tankerkomerc is located in the center of the city. It is home to most of the yacht charter companies in this part of Croatia. The other two marinas Marina Borik (D-Marin Group) and Marina Virtenjak Harbour are mainly filled with local yachts.
The proximity of the airport and the presence of several marinas in Zadar, make this city attractive for yachtsmen. In addition, there are many historical and architectural monuments in Zadar.
