The narrow and long bay of Plomin is located in the middle of the eastern coast of Istria, 3 miles north-east of Rabac and the same distance from the island of Cres.
Due to large depths anchorage is possible only in the north-western part of the bay, where the depth is less than 10 m. However, the limited space makes anchoring not always possible. Sometimes you can be moored at the waterfront between the fishing vessels, which stand here in a few rows.
Mooring here is possible only in consistently good weather. During bora or southerly winds it is not a good idea to moor in the bay.
Yachts enter Plomin Bay for a visit to the medieval town of Plomin, which is a 20-minute walk from the waterfront.
