Yacht anchorage at Santa Monica Beach

Santa Monica Beach (Praia Santa Monica) is located on the south of west coast of Boa Vista Island, 12 miles south of the port of Sel Rey (by sea 17 miles).

Yachts can be anchored along the entire beach at depths of 5-10 meters. The bottom is sandy. Holding is good. Although this anchorage is well sheltered by the island from the dominant north-east trade winds, the island is often rippled.

There is a hotel ashore. There is a small beach bar. Good fishing. You can buy lobster from a local fisherman.
