Sorrento. The Gulf of Naples on the Tyrrhenian coast of Italy.

Sorrento is a resort town on the south-eastern coast of the Gulf of Naples. The city is located on the steep plateau of the Sorrento Peninsula, 14 miles south-south-east of Naples. The city is connected by ferry with Naples, the islands of Capri and Ischia.

Sorrento is a city with a rich history and well-preserved sights from different eras. Sorrento is attractive for hiking, during which you can enjoy fantastic views of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius.

Despite the fact that the beaches of Sorrento are frankly uncomfortable (often they are platforms, taken out into the sea), it is a popular, prestigious and expensive resort in Italy. Sorrento hosts many festivals, the most famous and mass of which is the "Sorrento Summer of Music".

Sorrento is often visited by yachtsmen traveling along the Gulf of Naples, the islands of Capri, Ischia, Procida. There are several yacht marinas in the city, where you can leave your yacht and make a day trip to Capri or Naples.
