Fishport and town of Hydra is located on the north side of the island almost in the middle of it. Because of Hydra's popularity, the small harbor is always crowded with yachts.
Yachts are anchored stern to the south waterfront (or to an already moored yacht if there is no berth) or to the inner side of the breakwater. Depths at the quay and the inner side of the breakwater are about three meters, but the breakwater has piles of rocks, which force to go ashore not by the gangway, but through the dinghy.
In good weather, large yachts also are moored on the outer side of the breakwater.
A big problem when anchor chains overlap inside the harbor. So yacht crews have to be prepared for this problem when the yacht leaves harbor. There is no electricity either on the quay or on the breakwater. You can get water, but you need to find a special person - a waterman.
If you still can't find a berth for your boat in the harbor, don't despair, becouse a mile to the east is Mandraki Bay, where you will always find a place to anchor.
