The island of Zakinthos. Ionian Islands. Greece.

Zakinthos (Ζάκυνθος, Greek) is the third largest Greek island in the Ionian Sea after Kefalonia and Corfu. It is the southernmost of the Ionian islands. It is located 10 miles west of the Peloponnese peninsula and eight miles south of the largest Greek island in the Ionian Sea, Kefalonia. The coastline of Zakinthos is about 80 miles long. The coastline is fairly smooth. There are only a few enclosed coves.

The only port on the island, the port of Zakinthos, is on the northeast coast of the island. It is the port of entry to the country. There are no yacht marinas on the island, but there are several good anchorages that can be used by yachts. The most sheltered anchorages are Ayios Nikolaos on the north-east coast and Vromi on the south-west coast of the island.

Charter sights on Zakintos

There are no bases of charter companies providing yachts for rent on Zakynthos. The nearest marina, where you can rent a yacht, is on the island of Lefkas. If you have two weeks or more, you can consider renting a yacht on Corfu.
