Fishport Kalamos is located on the east coast of the island, two miles from its northern tip.
The fish port of Kalamos in Kalamos village is the main harbor of the island and is very frequented during the high season by yachts, including those chartered mainly on Lefkas. The shelter here is good from all winds, except the easterly and south-easterly. The harbor has mooring space for about 30 yachts.
Yachts usually moor with their stern or bow to the east breakwater or the west waterfront at their own anchor. Depths range from 4 meters in the northern part of the harbor to 2 meters in the southern part. In some places near the quay and near the breakwater there are rocks at a depth of about a meter. The bottom is clay and seaweed. Holding is good.
Since the harbor is confined, anchor chains from different yachts often overlap.
