Fishport Palairos is located in the head of the bay of Palairos on the Ionian mainland coast, 8 miles south-east of Lefkas (11.5 miles by sea).
Palairos harbor is formed by an L-shaped breakwater enclosing it from the south and west and a floating pontoon from the north. The eastern part of the breakwater and the waterfront are occupied by local fishing and pleasure boats, and the other bearths are used by transit yachts. Up to 15 yachts can be moored to the breakwater with their stern or bow at own anchor. Depths near the breakwater range from 2.0 meters in the middle of the south waterfront to 4.0 meters at the north end. The pier is equipped with mooring rings and widely spaced bollards. The depth in the middle of the harbor is about 4 meters. The bottom is muddy. Holding is good.
The pontoon extends about 50 meters from the shore toward the north end of the breakwater. The root inner part of the pontoon is occupied by small local boats. On the other part of the pontoon, up to 20 yachts can be moored stern or bow on both sides of it. During the high season the pontoon is often occupied by Odysseus Sailing charter yachts. Depths of the pontoon are 2.5 meters at the inner end, 3.25 meters in the middle and 3.75 at the outer end. There is electricity and water along the pontoon.
In calm weather, yachts can be anchored to the north or south of the harbor.
There are many taverns, bars and stores on the beach. Just south of the harbor begins the beach, which made Paliros a popular beach resort for Greeks.
