Apollonia is located on the north-east of Naxos, 1.6 miles south-east of the northern tip of the island.
Yachts are anchored all around the bay at depths of 3-7 meters. The bottom is sand. Holding is good. Good shelter from the south winds, but not from Meltemi. The north breakwater also does not give real shelter, because the waves pushed over and swept around it when Meltemi blows. There is a tiny fishport on the north of the bay where you can leave the dinghy.
There is a large sandy beach on the west shore of the bay. Apollonia is a large but quiet resort village with good tavernas. The small minimarket is open only early in the morning or late in the evening.
