Krk town is located approximately in the middle of the south-west coast of Krk island in the north-west corner of the Gulf of Krk.
There are three yacht mooring places in the city of Krk:
1 - North waterfront
Yachts with shallow draft (max. 2.5 - 3.0 m) can be moored alongside to the waterfront on the north side of the bay, between the two short, outer and inner piers.
During high season, buoys are set up along the waterfront and charter yachts can be moored to them with mooring lines from the stern to the waterfront. Note that the waterfront depth, in some parts, is about 1.0 meter, although it increases further to 3.0 - 4.0 meters. There may be no buoys at the beginning or end of the season.
2 - South waterfront
The pontoons of the south waterfront are set parallel to the south breakwater, yachts pick up the buoys and take mooring lines to the pontoon.
The pontoon is usually filled with local yachts, but there may be berths for transit yachts. Depths are 4.0 to 5.0 meters.
3 - East Bay
During the high season, two lines of mooring buoys are set up in the east bay at a depth of about 5.0 meters.
In very strong southerly winds, most of these buoys will be very uncomfortable and even unsafe.
It is also possible to anchored in the bay to the east of the city at a depth of 4.0 to 5.0 meters (especially out of season when there are no mooring buoys), but still, during the season, you will most likely have to pay the same price as if you were standing on a mooring buoy, so there is not much to gain here.
When parked at the quayside and pontoons, you can plug in electricity and fill up the water tanks. In the head of the bay there is a fueling station.
