The village and small port of Stomorska is located on the north-eastern coast of Solta Island, three miles south-east of Rogacz. Berths for yachts are provided along the deep eastern part of the waterfront.
Yachts are moored stern or bow, using fixed mooring lines. There is water and electricity. The bay is sheltered from most winds, but is open to north winds and mooring yachts here is not advisable in strong winds from that direction. During the high season, there is often no berth for yachts arriving at the end of the day. In this case, it is worth crossing over to Necuiam Bay, two miles to the north-west, where anchorage is always available.
There are no dangers when approaching Stomorska. The entrance to the bay is not clearly visible from the sea, but the red entrance light on the hill of the eastern cape is a good landmark. Depths on the approach are 12-15 metres, and 3.0-4.0 metres on the quay.
There is enough mooring space for 30-35 yachts.
Depths along the waterfront range from 2.5 metres at the southern end of the bay to 3.0 metres north (decreasing slightly along the narrow shelf, which can cause problems for yachts with deep rudder pen). Depths where the boat's keel is located are about 4.0 metres along the entire quay, except for the section of the quay in front of the Volat Restaurant (it's the only one with red umbrellas), which is only 1.5 to 2.0 metres deep and therefore suitable only for yachts with a small draft.
There are three widely separated water and electricity points on the promenade (price around 40 kuna). Toilets and showers are available at the harbour office (up the steps next to the post office). There's no petrol station.
Stomorska is a flourishing village and is very popular with yachtsmen, especially those who have rented yachts for a week in Trogir, Kastela or Split. Stomorska is the oldest village on the island, it has a long tradition of building wooden sailing boats and there you can usually see one or two in state of repair on the shore.
There is a Studenac supermarket and a number of other grocery shops in the village. Lots of cafes and restaurants.
