In Palmeira Bay, yachts can moored on the buoys or on their own anchors at a depth of 3-4 meters. The bottom is sand. Holding is good The bay provides excellent shelter from the waves in the prevailing north-easterly winds. However, wind gusts can sometimes reach 35-40 knots. In the north-westerly winds the bay can be rough.

Mooring at the buoy costs 5 euros per day. Local kids will offer you protects your dinghy while you are ashore for 0,5 - 1 euro. Otherwise they might damage your dinghy. There are known cases of theft, but in general here is quiet and calm.

Javier of the Sodade commercial tourist catamaran helps you to get bouys (5€/night) and laundry service. Some nice restaurants in the harbour (f.e. Rotterdam and Capricorn, last one with free internet). Easy enough to buy SIM card with 10GB internet data (11,5€) in local shop, just 100 meters away from police station.

A few small shops around the port, Chinese Lee shop has most supplies. Rather expensive supermarket in Espargos (next town, 0,5€/bus to get there) not worth it. Professional bakery with excellent products 250 meters behind port, in small industrial area. You can fill gas bottle on the big central fuel storage with green walls (VIVO energy).
