Cape Vaticano is located on the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria, 22 miles north-north-east of Messina Strait.
Yachts are anchored in an open bay east of Cape Vaticano at depths of 4-10 meters. The seabed is sandy. Holding is good. Note that the Navionics map shows the location of the rocks incorrectly. The rocks can be seen on the image from space.
The bay is open to the south and south-west, so it is comfortable anchoring here only in northerly winds or in calm weather.
The place is interesting with the cliffs of Vaticano Cape, among which there are small, sheltered beaches, which can be reached only by dinghy. In summer, the area is quite lively.
