Mourtos is a small village and fishing port located in the Ionian Sea on mainland Greece opposite the southern tip of Corfu, six miles south of Igoumenitsa. Nearby there are several small islets under the general name of Sivota with many well-sheltered yacht anchorages.
In recent years, Murtos has become a rather popular tourist destination and the small port is now used by yachts and fishing boats. There are many restaurants and bars on the promenade of Murtos, popular with yachtsmen. In the evenings of the season - especially on weekends - the pier is filled with yachts (private and charter mainly in Corfu) and it can be difficult to find a berth to moor a yacht. The port also has a small marina, half of which is occupied by local boats and coast guard vessels, and the other half can be used by yachts. The marina is partially equipped with stationary mooring lines, however some of the yachts will need to use their anchors.
