Diakofti Bay is located in the middle of the east coast of Kythira near Makronisos Island. Here is the main ferry port of the island of Kythira.

Yacht anchorage in Diakofti bay between Kythira Island and the small island of Makronisos, connected by a bridge, provides good shelter for yachts in southerly winds. Anchor is at depths of 2-10 meters on the sandy bottom. Holding is good. On the south side of the ferry pier it is possible to refuel the yacht with water.

Shallow draft yachts can be moored stern or bow to the north-east end of the south pier, where the depth is about 2.5 meters.

In westerly winds, yachts can shelter on the north side of Makronisos Island, anchoring at depths of 5-15 meters. The bottom is sandy. Holding is good.

There is a large sandy beach, a few bars and restaurants and a mini market.

The ferry pier is located on the west side of Makronissos island, close to the northern tip. There is a road leading to it from Diakofti village across the bridge. Ferries are going to Piraeus, Kalamata, Pelagia and Neapolis.
