The vast majority of the Cyclades travelers are visiting the inhabited islands of the archipelago. There are a total of 33 such islands. The most visited are Naxos, Andros, Tinos, Paros, Milos, Kea, Amorgos, Ios, Kithnos, Mykhonos, Syros, Santorin, Serifos, Sifnos, Sikinos, Anafi, Kimolos, Andiparos, Folegandros.
On some islands there are yacht marinas. For example on Milos, Paros, Naxos, Santorin.
All inhabited islands of the Cyclades are connected by ferry services. Most often the ferry port of an island is its capital and is located in a well sheltered enclosed bay. Near the ferry pier there are usually piers or waterfronts where yachts can be moored. Mooring is most often Mediterranean, i.e. stern or bow to the pier at their own anchor. On large islands there may be several settlements with small fishports where yachts can be moored.
Usually yachts have the opportunity to be anchored near the harbor area.
