Mersini harbor is located on the south-west coast of the island.
Mersini harbor is really a ferry pier. The harbor provides excellent shelter for yachts from Meltemi, but is open to south winds. It is strong gusts of wind flowing down from the mountains during Meltemi.
Yachts moor to the north-west side of the pier at their anchor or alongside, if there is space. Depths at the pier are about 2.5 meters.
Anchoring between the pier and the beach at 5-6 meters depth may be an alternative to anchoring the yacht at the pier. Holding is good. Since the bay is narrow and quite popular, it is better to take mooring lines ashore.
From the pier to the village of Chora about a kilometer to the east. There are taverns, bars and a supermarket in the village.
