The only small port on La Digue is in the north-west of the island. Ferries come here, local fishing and tourist boats are based here, and transit yachts can also be moored here in enclosed waters.
Entrance to the harbor is strictly along the fairway, marked by buoys. The harbor consists of an L-shaped breakwater on which ferries and commercial tourist vessels are moored, and an inner water area where yachts can drop their anchor and stretch their long roaps to the western shore of the harbor. Fishport is sheltered from winds from all directions. Waves are almost never here. The depths in the anchorage are 2-4 meters. In strong west and north-west winds, yachts anchored in the eastern corner of the harbor may experience problems if their anchor does not hold well enough.
