Yacht mooring in Estaca Harbor

Estaca harbor (Puerto de La Estaca) is located on the east coast of El Hierro, 4 miles (6.5 miles by sea) from the northern tip of the island.

Estaca is a modern port with ferries. There are about 50 berths for yachts at the floating pontoons. Depths at the pontoons are up to 8 meters. Yachts in the port are well sheltered from winds and waves of all directions, except south.

Nearby, though not within walking distance, is the island's capital, Valverde. On the coast there is not even a settlement - just a couple of restaurants.
