Hierro (El Hierro), formerly also Ferro (Ferro - iron), is the smallest of the seven main islands of the Canary archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, belonging to Spain. The island also has the westernmost and southernmost points of the Canary Islands and all of Spain. It belongs to the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The island is shaped like a short boot turned sole to the south-south-west. The coastline is smooth. There are no enclosed bays. The island's main port - Estaca (Puerto de la Estaca) - is located in the northern part of the south-eastern coast of the island. The port has an area dedicated to the mooring of yachts. The second port where yachts can moored to the pier, Restinga (La Restinga Puerto Deportivo), is located in the south of the island on the heel of the boot. There are several anchorages on the south-east and south-west coasts of the island.
The island's main attractions are of a natural character.
