Yacht moorings in Kalkan Fishport

Fishport Kalkan is located in the north-western part of Kalkan Bay.

The closest shelters for yachts are in Oludeniz and Kas, although the yacht marina of Kas is blown by the prevailing westerly winds. When approaching Kalkan harbor, it is not easy to see the breakwater in the harbor or the buildings of Kalkan until you are practically inside the bay. Yachts are moored Mediterranean-style - stern or bow to pier - used own anchor. Although there is sand on the bottom the anchor does not always hold well and it may take several tryin of the yacht approaches to stand securely. Kalkan is a good shelter for yachts but the southerly winds cause nasty waves inside the harbor. Because the harbor is fairly narrow anchor chains from neighboring yachts often overlap. There is water and electricity at the pier, and a waterfront toilet and shower. The use of the shower and toilet is paid extra.

Repair services and garbage cans are available. Waste disposal rules are strictly enforced here and fines may be levied.
