Port Mergellina (also known among yachtsmen as Sannazzaro), is just over a mile from Naples' huge commercial docks and is one of the closest marinas to the center of Naples.
The port of Mergellina is sheltered from south and west winds by a long breakwater and is only open to north-east winds (rarely blowing from this direction). The maximum length of yachts is about 30 meters. Depths at the pontoons range from one meter before shore to 4.5 meters at the end.
Behind the breakwater is a series of piers operated by four different companies. Facilities include: gas station (6:00 am to 8:00 pm); water and electricity on pontoons; fixed mooring lines; winter storage facilities for yachts ashore; fixed crane (20 tons); mobile crane (15 tons); toilets and showers; all mechanical and electrical repairs; sail repair; diving services.
There are tavernas, bars, restaurants, stores on the shore. To the center of Naples one and a half kilometers.
