Baia harbor is located in an open bay on the western side of Naples Gulf, just over three miles north of Cape Miseno.
Shelter here is good in prevailing north-west and south-west winds, but the bay is completely open to north-east and east winds. In strong winds from these directions, Port Baia will become unusable for yachts.
On approach, a large castle is visible on the headland at the southern entrance to the bay. There is a large boatyard in the bay, to the north of which a series of pontoons are installed during the season to provide mooring for up to 200 yachts. The maximum allowable length of yachts is 15 meters. Depths at the pontoons range from just over 1.0 meters near the shore to 4.5 meters at the outer end of the pontoons.
Also yachts can be moored at the piers of the shipyards operating in the harbor.
Water and electricity are available on pontoons. Fuel station is in the harbor and at the Cantieri FIART shipyard. A slip is available through which yachts up to 250 tons can be lifted. There is a fixed crane of 15 tons and a travel lift of 60 tons. All kinds of mechanical and hull repairs are available.
There are buses from Baia to Naples along the coast road.
Alternatively, yachts can be anchored in the bay at depths of 4.0 - 5.0 meters. The bottom is muddy, holding is good.
