Lipari Islands

The Lipari (Aeolian) Islands are a group of islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea to the north of Sicily. All the islands are of volcanic origin. On the island of Stromboli, a volcano that erupts 4 times an hour is constantly active until today. On the islands of Lipari and Vulcano there are fumaroles - cracks and holes located in the craters, on the slopes and at the foot of volcanoes and serving as sources of hot gases. There are hot springs and a hot mud lake on Vulcano.
The Lipari archipelago is perfect for a leisurely family yacht trip. The closest place to the Lipari Islands to charter a yacht is Santa Agata di Militello, 24 miles from the island of Vulcano.
