Filicudi Island

Filicudi Island lies 10 miles west of Salina Island and 8 miles east of Alicudi Island. Filicudi Island is an extinct volcano and is joined by a low isthmus to the rocky promontory of Cape Graziano on the south-eastern tip of the island. Today the island is home to just under 300 people, who are involved in fishing, wine production, growing capers, olives and vegetables, as well as catering for tourists. Most of the island is a nature reserve.

The main village of the island, Porto Filicudi, has a pier, the outer end of which is suitable for mooring yachts in calm weather or south-westerly winds. There are also buoys for mooring yachts. In Pecorini a Mare there is an anchorage suitable for yachts in calm weather and in north and north-east winds. Another anchorage suitable for yachts in calm weather is at the north-western tip of the island between Scoglio la Canna and Scoglio la Montenassari.
