Ischia Island

Ischia is one of the two relatively large islands of the Phlegraean Archipelago. The nearest islands are Ventotene (belonging to the Ponza Islands) 20 miles to the west and Procida 2 miles to the east.

Like all the islands of the Phlegraean Archipelago, Ischia is of volcanic origin. The constant presence of underground activity is demonstrated by the numerous hot mineral springs that have made the island a popular resort since ancient times. Lush vegetation covers much of Ischia's surface, even the slopes of Mount Epomeo, which is 788 meters high. Like most Italian islands, Ischia sees an influx of tourists in the summer and the marinas where yachts can be moored in the two main harbors, Porto de Ischia and Casamicciola, are crowded.

Charter sights on Ischia Island

The best place to rent a charter yacht for a trip to Ischia is Nettuno, where there are several charter companies offering yachts for rent. It is also possible in Naples and Salerno, but there are far fewer yachts available for charter than in Nettuno.
