Capri Island

Capri is an island located three miles off Cape Campanella at the southern end of the Gulf of Naples. It is one of the most famous in the Mediterranean Sea. Capri originally became famous thanks to the Roman Emperor Tiberius, who had several villas here. Singer Gracie Fields built a villa on the south coast in Marina Piccola, and Swedish royalty doctor Axel Munte built villa on the foundations of one of Tiberius' ruined villas. Other notable owners of Capri villas include personalities as diverse as Russian revolutionary Maxim Gorky and singer/songwriter Mari Carey.

Due to Capri's immense popularity, the island's only marina is always crowded in summer and a yacht can only be moored there by pre-booking. There are plenty of anchorages along the coast of the island.
