Yacht anchorage off Deserta Grande Island

The yacht anchorage is located on the west coast of Desert Grandy Island, 2.3 miles from its southern tip.

Beautiful anchorage, relatively sheltered. The yachts areanchored in the middle of the bay at a depth of 7-12 meters. Bottom is soft sandbanks and rocks. Anchor holds acceptably.
The anchorage is in a protected area, which is strictly protected. Prior permission to visit the island can be requested from the Parks Department of the Madeira government (Carolina.santos@madeira.gov.pt). You can walk around the island only on a 300-meter hiking route.
