Lavrion

Lavrio is a city in Greece, in Eastern Attica. The city has a port somewhat smaller than that of Piraeus. It is located 40 km south-east of Athens and 7 km north of Cape Sounion. From Athens Venizelos International Airport it is about half an hour by car (37 km).

There are two marinas in Lavrio: Lavrio Marina, which serves mainly bareboat charter companies and Olympic Marina, which serves mainly private yachts. Lavrio Marina is located in the city center and Olympic Marina is a ten-minute cab ride from the city center. Lavrion's marinas provide good shelter for yachts from the prevailing winds.

In Lavrion you can walk through the old town, sit in the tavernas and enjoy the atmosphere of the Greek province, despite the fact that you are not so far from the capital of Greece.
