Prvic Island is located off the Croatian mainland coast, just three miles west of Sibenik. The nearest islands are Tidjat and Zlarin, which lie directly to the west and south-east respectively. Although Prvic has a total area less than a square mile, there are around 450 people living on the island - a surprising number of inhabitants for an island of this size.
Most inhabitants live in the two settlements of Prvic Luka on the southern side of the island and Sepurina on the western side. In addition to olive oil and wine production and fishing, tourism is the main source of income for the island.
Like many small Croatian islands, there is no car traffic on Prvic. There are no cars on the entire island, except for a fire engine. Instead, there are a few tractors and many bicycles.
