On the south coast of Graciosa, west of the port of Caleta del Sabo, there are three coves where yachts can anchor. The coves are well sheltered yachts from the prevailing winds and waves.
The most popular among yachtsmen is the middle bay - near the French beach (Playa Francesa) at depths of 3-5 meters. The bottom is a small layer of sand on a rocky base.
All three bays are part of the Chinijo Archipelago Marine Reserve, so fishing is prohibited there, but so far there are no known precedents of yachts being prohibited anchorage in these bays. Nevertheless, it is advisable, if possible, to check whether the coves are still available for anchorage with the port authorities or charter company if you are traveling with a rented yacht.
Warning: There were reports that the westernmost bay is not suitable for anchorage, as "it is not possible to anchor there everywhere. You can not go out at low tide. This is the outermost south-western cove". This message was accompanied by photo.
