Argentario Peninsula

Argentario Peninsula is located on the Toscana coast of Italy, 40 miles south-east of Piambino and 60 miles north-west of Rome. Argentario was an island, but sea currents and the Albigna River have connected it to the mainland by three narrow sandbanks that form two enclosed lagoons: the Laguna di Ponente to the west of the middle sandbank and the Laguna di Levante to the east.

On the Argentario peninsula there are two small harbor towns: the "northern" Porto Santo Stefano and the "southern" Porto Ercole. Porto Santo Stefano is the ferry port of the peninsula.

Despite the small size of the peninsula, there are several marinas and ports where yachts can be moored at the pier.
