The town and port of Rapallo are located in a sheltered small bay at the north of Tigullio Bay, 15 miles east of Genoa. A railroad runs through Rapallo, connecting Genoa with Rome and Naples. Rapallo is connected by ferry to most of the cities of the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian coasts of Italy, the islands of Elba, Corsica, Sardinia, and Sicily.
Rappalo is the largest resort of the Ligurian coast, which is primarily due to some of the most favorable climatic conditions on the entire Ligurian coast of Italy. The resort is popular with wealthy Italians living in north-western Italy, whose luxury villas are located along the hills outside the town.
Rapallo has a thirty centuries old history and many historical and architectural monuments of all times.
Yachtsmen, among other things, are attracted here by the sheltered harbor and the Carlo Riva marina, which offers a useful alternative to the crowded marina of Portofino, located four miles to the south.
