Vieste is a town, municipality and former Catholic bishopric in the province of Foggia, in the Puglia region in the south-eastern Adriatic coast of Italy. Vieste is a seaside resort. The territory occupied by the municipality is part of the Gargano National Park.
The historical center of Vieste, usually called “Vieste Vecchia”, is compactly located on a cliff. The ancient village of medieval origin has kept its original features almost intact, with its characteristic irregular alleys, squares/belvederes (open to sea views) and row houses, marked on the avenue by small galleries/balconies (mignali) and united in line with the streets by small and characteristic arches.
The town has a fishport with many pieres for yachts operated by different companies.
