San Benedetto del Tronto is a town and comune in the Marche region of Italy. It is one of the most densely populated areas along the Adriatic coast. Its port is one of the largest on the Adriatic. The economy of San Benedetto del Tronto depends on tourism, primarily family-oriented. The first document that gives the name of the village dates back to 998.
The town has an ancient center (high town), next to which there is a yacht marina. The symbol of the old town is the 14th century hexagonal tower of Torre dei Gualtieri, whose clock counts down every hour of the day. There are many museums and other attractions in the city.
