Civitanova Marche

Civitanova Marche is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Macerata in the Italian region Marche, located about 40 kilometers (25 mi) southeast of Ancona and about 25 kilometers (16 mi) east of Macerata. Civitanova was probably founded around the 8th century BC as Cluana by the Italian Piceni tribe at the estuary of the Chienti River. Today Civitanova is quite a large modern tourist center with beautiful sandy beaches, many hotels, restaurants, bars and stores. At the same time there are quite a lot of historical sights preserved here.

There is a club yacht marina in the town.
